Short Stack Inspection

Sometimes even small jobs require a lot of attention.  This single day project which was the hydroblast, repaid and inspection of a small boiler stack required 5 vendors, 3 engineers and 4 weeks of planning.  Eventhough it was only a 43' tall stack it was for a boiler system that was 'always on'.  The three engineers planned and planned for exactly when this equipment could be down, exactly when the space surrounding the small stack would be clear enough for the massive amount of washing, vaccuming and inspection equipment needed.  When exactly did the hydro blasting, repairing, vaccuming and inspections need to happen and how long would each part take?  All individuals had to be percise on their timelines and execution as the boiler was scheduled to be down for less than 24 hours!  Our inspection revealed that not only did the boiler need repairs as planned but next year the stack itself would need several repairs if not replacement!  Looks like another tight timeline next year!!
